About Cubs
Our Group runs 2 Cub Packs for boys and girls aged eight until ten and a half, both meet on a Thursday evening and follow the same programme. Gladstone Pack meet from 5:30 – 6:55 and Baden-Powell from 7:05 – 8:30. Camps and weekend activities are attended by Cubs from both Packs.
The Programme
The programme at Cubs is varied and delivered through crafts, practical activities, games and discussion. Emphasis is on fun, teamwork, resilience and adventure. Cubs providing suggestions for the programme and trips.
During 2026, Cubs have found out about the solar system, healthy eating and festivals around the world, learnt some basic first aid and compass skills.
Over the year they have visited the fire station and museum, enjoyed hikes, evenings at local playgrounds and a swimming afternoon. Weekend opportunities have included a camp, a large activity evet with hundreds of Scouts and Guides from around the area, a 2-night stay at an activity centre and a water-sports day.

FAQ
What uniform is required?
For weekly meetings, your child will just need their official section uniform top (such as the Squirrels red sweatshirt or Cubs green jumper). When they are officially invested into the group, we will present them with our Group neckerchief (often called a 'necker') alongside their starting badges.
Where do I sew all the badges?
It can definitely seem a bit daunting when they start earning so many! We have put together a handy badge placement diagram for you - simply scroll down to the next section on this page to see exactly where each one belongs.
Do you need parents to help out?
Yes, our group is entirely run by volunteers and we always appreciate an extra pair of hands! Whether you can help make squash on a parent rota once a term, or you are interested in joining the leadership team, your support is vital to keeping the adventure going.
How do I get a place for my child?
Our sections are very popular, so we use a central waiting list. Simply use the 'Join our Waiting List' button in the main menu to fill out your details, and our membership team will be in touch as soon as a space becomes available.
